FAQ

History of Beautifying the Body

People have been manicuring their nails for more then 4,000 years. In southern Babylonia, noblemen used solid gold tools to give themselves manicures and pedicures. The use of fingernail polish can be traced back even further. Originating in China in 3,000 B.C., nail color indicated one’s social status—according to a Ming dynasty manuscript, royal fingernails were painted black and red.

The Egyptians also colored their nails, using red to show the highest social class. It is said that Cleopatra’s nails were painted deep red, whereas Queen Nefertiti went with flashier ruby shade. In Egypt and Rome, military commanders also painted their nails to match their lips before they went of to battle.

Beauty comes from within. Boost your inner feelings about yourself by giving yourself the outward attention you deserve. When you look in the mirror and love what you see your natural beauty blossoms.

What does Microdermabrasion do?

Microdermabrasion is a mechanical way of controlled skin abrasion (deep exfoliation).

  • It is a perfect peeling process.
  • It stimulates formation of new cells.
  • It enhances cell division and migration (speeds up cell production).
  • It increases effectiveness of active ingredients for treating the following skin conditions: aging skin, wrinkles, hyperceratosis, sun damage, acne scars and other scars.

Why is Vitamin C so important for the skin?

Humans do not produce Vitamin C internally, therefore require outside or supplemental sources of this vitamin. Environmental influences in everyday life—sunlight, harmful substances—create free oxygen radicals. Vitamin C acts immediately on the skin as an anti-aging factor (collects unwanted free oxygen radical molecules). It stimulates collagen formation and helps to promote newer skin cell regeneration, improves moisturizing efficiency. Vitamin C increases skin vitality and youthfulness when used daily. Applying Vitamin C combined with Light Therapy, enhances the therapeutic effect on the damaged area of the skin.

What is Ultrasound?

Ultrasound is sound waves, which are no longer noticed by the human ear. The vibration of these waves are over 20,000 per second. This technique has been successfully used for many years for both diagnosis and therapy. Practically unnoticeable, yet full of power and energy!

The treatment has three major effects:

  1. Thermal through absorption (feeling of heat)
  2. Mechanical as micro massage
  3. Biological through physiochemical processes:
    • Vessel dilation (increased oxygen supply to the cells)
    • Improved blood circulation
    • Sonophoresis
    • Improvement of lymph flow rate
    • Relaxes tensed muscles
    • Reduce inflamation
    • Pain relief

What are the effects of using Ultrasound in skin care?

Deep Moisturizing: By increasing lymph flow rate, skin metabolism is activated, waste products are removed more effectively. As waste products extract moisture from the skin, after each treatment the skin can absorb and store more moisture again.

Improved Skin Texture: The deep tissue micromassage improves tone and achieves a much younger looking skin texture.

Increased Absorption of Nourishing Products: Sonophoresis and increased blood circulation helps to penetrate nourishing products further into he skin.

How do nutrition & lifestyle effect the condition of my skin?

Nutrition and lifestyle play a major role in our health: the skin can be an indicator of our health condition.

  • Lack of dietary protein can manifest as unhealthy skin, hair and nails.
  • An iron deficiency may cause very pale skin.
  • Red, blotchy skin can be an early indicator of a circulatory disorder.
  • A vitamin B deficiency may lead to skin lesions.
  • Lack of vitamin B or A may lead to rough skin.
  • Broken capillaries on the facial skin may mean lack of vitamins C, P or K.
  • Fatty acid or water deficiency leads to dry, wrinkled skin.
  • The best way to prevent photo-aging is to use sunscreen.
  • Skin in poor condition can reflect lifestyle choices—such as drinking or smoking.
  • Stress causes the release of free radicals—which are directly linked to cell damage.
  • The best anti-oxidants contain Vitamin A, C and E.

Nutritional awareness, a balanced diet and an exercise plan enhances skin treatments, leading to a more radiant you—the kind of reflection you want!

Is the use of professional skin care products important?

Every year scientists learn more about how our skin works. Perhaps the most important recent discovery is that of growth factors are naturally occurring proteins that control the generation of new skin cells, among other vital roles. These growth factors regulate cell function and vitality as well. As we age, we produce less of these important proteins… leading to the natural process of aging. Products that help deliver and replace these missing growth factors should play a major role in your self care. Using professional products will result in collagen and elastin renewal. Your skin will be softer, less lined and metabolically charged.

How much time can I spend in the sun?

Even spending as little as two minutes in the sun can trigger skin damage. Scientific studies have shown that two minutes of direct sun-exposure triggers protein that breaks down collagen and elastin, the skin’s major structural supports. Continuous skin-protection is the key to avoiding photo-aging. Preventing sun damage is the best decision you can make for the health and appearance of your skin.
